The Law Enforcement community needs to understand what their cardiometabolic risk factors are. This is a big word, but even a bigger problem, so it is time to take a few minutes to listen and understand not just the problem, but more importantly, what you can do about it.
Matt Martin is one of the founders of Precision Health Reports, a company focused on providing the earliest detection of an individual’s risk for developing type 2 diabetes, stroke, or heart attack. Matt is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point followed by an 8 ½ year tenure as an Army Infantry Officer serving both stateside, in Bosnia, and during the 05-06 Iraq surge.
After leaving the military, Matt spent 11 years at an early-stage and fast growing digital health company, TrialCard, that was solely focused on allowing patients to access and afford the medications that they needed. While serving in operational, sales, marketing, strategy, and corporate leadership roles as the company continued to rapidly grow, he dived deep into using technology to solve complex challenges to help people live healthier.
However, while doing so much growth professionally, like many of us he also ‘grew’ personally becoming overweight, unhealthy, and likely pre-diabetic. After a beloved (and thought to be healthy) family member died of an unexpected heart attack, Matt was able to take control of his own health and regain a healthy lifestyle. This also led to meeting the other cofounder of Precision Health Reports, Dr. Bill Cromwell, arguably the best expert physician in the US for early detection and prevention of cardiometabolic disease (diabetes, stroke, and heart attacks). Together, they created Precision Health Reports.
In this episode, Matt and I discuss our personal journeys to finding the path to understanding risks, but more importantly, finding a key metabolic test that can save your life, literally. If you have not asked yourself how you want the back half of your life to look like, now is the time.
