Show Notes

A recurring dream I had as a police officer was to move to a cabin in the woods at the end of a long and winding trail.  There are no neighbors.  Just peace and quiet.  Nature.

Eric Reynolds took a different path.  He and his family bought a fifth-wheel camper trailer and hit the road.  But there was a twist.  They didn’t do it as a vacation but as a lifestyle.  Upon his retirement from policing, Eric and his family hit the road and began living the experiential life.  Instead of his children reading about the great lakes in a textbook or watching it on a video, they just went there.  They dipped their toes in the water, swam, and explored the natural environment.

Along the way, they stopped at campgrounds and used them for their personal FOBs (Forward Operating Bases).  While doing this full-time, they discovered many other police officers and their families along the way.

Eric would set up camp and then pitch his “Blue Line” flag to mark his spot and honor his service to our country as a law enforcement officer.  Then, at one campground, he was asked to take his flag down.  The management had folded to a complaint from another camper.  This ignited a spark that led to “Cops and Campers.”  I don’t want to spoil it here, so you’ll have just to listen in.  Let us just say it is the classic example of turning lemons into lemonade.

If this sounds a bit wild, well, maybe it is.  Or, perhaps, the rest of us are just chained to our routines.  For Eric and his family, this is their adventure.

Tune in and learn more about Eric’s story.  The son of a trailblazing mother who worked as a detective in Miami, Florida, during the heyday of the cocaine cowboys.  He was wounded in the line of duty in a gun battle with a fleeing bank robber.  Injured, he gained weight and started down a difficult path.  During his recovery journey, he discovered the power of a ketogenic diet in helping his recovery process.  He adopted the online personality of “Keto 5-0” and used his experience to teach others.

Eric’s story is unique and inspirational.  There is something for everyone here, so once you are done listening, reach out to Eric, and maybe you can help him speak about the “Cops & Campers” experience nationwide!
